Monday, May 22, 2017 – May 22nd is “Buy a Musical Instrument Day.” Do you play an instrument? How long have you been playing? If you do not play an instrument, what instrument would you like to play? (Music Stories)
Tuesday, May 23, 2017 – If you could design a roller coaster, what would that entail? Draw if you have the time.

6th Grade English Language Arts:
This week the students will be starting a new writing project: research. We will continue to review the Parts of Speech and their functions. And, we will finish Unit 9 vocabulary.
Writers’ Workshop: 6-1 only! Research information page
7th Grade English Language Arts and Reading:
The students will begin Unit 10 vocabulary and begin brainstorming topics for written and oral debates. They will also identify the functions of pronouns in sentences. They will continue to read the novel, Crash and work on “how to” answer critical thinking questions.
Vocabulary: PP – 194-195
Reading: Read chapters 29 & 30 and answer the questions. Crash
8th Grade English Language Arts and Reading:
This week we will practice our Role Model Speech that all 8th graders are required to give on Monday, May 22. We will also continue to write our Letters to Self.
Writers’ Workshop: Letter to Self will be due on Friday, May 26th.
Vocabulary Workshop/Levels B ,C, & D: vocabularyworkshop.com provides on-line vocabulary games. practice tests, and audio pronunciations. Extremely helpful for studying for all the unit tests.
